A New Discovery for me in Fashion Illustration

Carrie Bradshaw
Came across this amazing fashion illustrator today called Brooke Hagal. She sells prints of her peices on Etsy.com (under seller name brooklit) but also has her own blog to check out - www.FabulousDoodles.blogspot.com. Her fashion illustrations mainly show barbie-esque creatures strutting down catwalks in all manner of high fashion.......I so love them!!!

Seventies Style

I should have been a child of the 70's. There is not one element of the seventies that I do not like....really. Or at least I cannot think of one. Granted, I am sure I would have rather been around in 70's America than Britain - I can see myself floating about at the centre of the Hippie movement in some green park in Central America, bathing in sunshine and smoking....something. So many of the looks that are incoming for this coming SS11 are based of the looks of the 70's and IMO 70's America.....and I love it!! I would buy up every piece of this style if I could afford to. The high street - which is my playing ground - is going to be swimming in garments relating to this style. So having been trawling the web (purely for research purposes you understand) I have chosen some of my favourites. Since I am also REALLY into Vintage and more specifically vintage on Etsy - I have also included my picks of genuine fashions from the time. Get buying because the roundabout of fashion will stop at the Seventies style again and again so you really will be buying into an investment!!

Both of these outfits are available to buy at Miss Selfridge online with prices starting at £80 for the full outfits.

London Fashion Weekend

Was in London this past weekend for LFWE. I was a London Fashion Week/end virgin and I loved every minute of this new experience. M had won us tickets courtesy of Vodafone VIP which granted us entry, goodie bags, and Front Row Catwalk seats. Somerset House had been tranfomed into a kind of Heaven for Fashionista's and there was plenty to do and see - goodness knows how many Designer stalls to peruse, as well as a Superdrug Nail Bar, Toni & Guy Blow Dry Bar, Champagne and Espresso Bar, Vodafone Recharge Area (for feet and phones ;) ) and of course the Catwalk Show. I wasn't too impressed with the Designer Clothes tbh as I am a high street whore - but a few bits and pieces took my fancy. I loved the vintage stall with vintage bags but I feel that Vintage clothing was lacking at the event. I also wasn't too impressed with the contents of the 'Goodie Bag' - compared to previous years contents, I feel it could have been better. I cannot complain though as ours were free and the canvas bag is a great momento of the evening. Note to self for next time though: GO EARLY and make a day of it - get my hair and nails done, drink champers and have a good old root around.

The Catwalk Show comprised of an assortment of designers who had shown at London Fashion Week, just a few days earlier. It was a spectacle to behold, with Black Swan themed clothes, Fringing and Colour Blocking as far as the eye could see.
